Khidmat-e-Awam and Special Gram Sabha held at BDO Office Shargole
Kargil, October 02, 2026: Khidmat-e-Awam and Special Gram Sabha was organized and held at BDO Office Shargole under the supervision of BDO Shargole. The distinguished guest Mr. Shafaq Ahmad Mir, JKAS, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) who also holds the additional charge of District Programme Officer, ICDS Projects Kargil, graced the occasion.
The event was attended by officers and officials of various line departments. From ICDS Project Shargole, CDPO Shargole Ms. Farida Banoo accompanied by Block Coordinator and Anganwadi Workers and Helpers actively participated in the event.
During the programme, all officers and representatives of their respective departments shared awareness about the various schemes being implemented by their departments for the welfare of the general public.
Simultaneously, CDPO Shargole briefed the general public about various schemes implemented by the ICDS Department, particularly Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP), Pre-School Education (ECCE), the aim and objectives of organizing Poshan Maah and other allied schemes. While the Block Coordinator briefed the participants in detail about the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) scheme, its eligibility, benefits and registration process.
At the end of the programme, the DPO interacted with the general public, heard their questions and grievances patiently and assured them that the same would be resolved as far as possible.
In the event, Anganwadi Workers also showcased and exhibited the food items being served at Anganwadi Centres as well as various local foods, aimed to promote the importance of consumption of local nutritious food in daily life and to prevent the use of junk and fast food.
Additionally, Special Gram Sabhas were also held at Panchayats of Pashkum block and Supervisor Ms. Punchok Dolma from ICDS Project Shargole attended the Gram Sabha there
