Leh, Oct 6: As many as 114 newly recruited Special Police Officers (SPOs) were inducted into the Ladakh Police at a passing-out parade held at the Police Training School, Leh, marking a significant expansion of the force in the Union Territory.
The newly inducted personnel will strengthen policing in the newly created districts of Nubra, Sham, Changthang, Drass and Zanskar.
During the event, 99 police personnel who completed their pre-promotional courses were also congratulated for taking on greater responsibilities and leadership roles within the police administration.
The newly inducted personnel were exhorted to serve the people with dedication, integrity and professionalism, with emphasis on maintaining public trust and strengthening policing at the grassroots level.
As part of measures aimed at improving the welfare of police personnel, 24 police family quarters were also inaugurated.
The event further saw the launch of the Emblem, Flag, Logo, badges and website of the Ladakh Fire & Rescue Service, along with a Comprehensive Fire Safety Handbook.
The initiatives are aimed at strengthening personnel welfare, improving professional standards and enhancing Ladakh’s security and emergency response capabilities.
