DC Zanskar Reviews Departmental Works, Directs Officers to Ensure Dedicated Public Service

Zanskar, October 6, 2026: Deputy Commissioner, Zanskar, Shri. Omkar Rajendra Gundage, today chaired a meeting of district officers at the Dak Bungalow Conference Hall, Padum, to discuss the submission of proposals under untied grants and review overall departmental functioning.
During the meeting, Heads of various departments apprised the Deputy Commissioner of various departmental issues and requested necessary intervention for their timely resolution.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for effective coordination among departments for the timely implementation of developmental works and delivery of public services. Addressing administrative discipline, the DC specifically directed all officers to submit their Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs) and monthly minutes of meetings chaired by the respective Heads of Departments (HoDs), along with the monthly leave account of their respective offices, in a timely manner.
While stressing the importance of efficient and transparent functioning, the DC directed all Heads of Departments to discharge their duties with dedication, sincerity, and honesty, keeping the interests and welfare of the people of Zanskar at the forefront.
He further underscored the collective responsibility of all departments in strengthening the newly established district and directed the officers to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the effective implementation of government programmes and development initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon all officers to make concerted efforts towards establishing Zanskar as a model district in the Union Territory of Ladakh, with a strong focus on responsive governance, timely execution of works, and improved public service delivery.
The meeting concluded with directions to the concerned departments to follow up on the issues raised and ensure timely action on the decisions taken during the meeting.
