Leh, May 25: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, hosted a delegation of teachers from Mahabodhi School, Leh, as part of a collaborative exposure programme aimed at strengthening innovative teaching practices, experiential learning and modern pedagogical approaches across Ladakh.
The delegation was welcomed by Principal DIET Leh, Sh. Mirza Mehdi, who highlighted the significance of professional exchange and hands-on exposure in shaping the future of education. He described DIET Leh as a centre for innovation and capacity building for educators in the region.
During the visit, DIET faculty introduced the teachers to various resource centres and demonstrated their functioning and educational relevance. The delegation explored the Vidya Samiksha Kendra for real-time data monitoring and school performance analysis, the Bhoti Language Lab dedicated to preserving and promoting Ladakhi language and culture, and the Mathematics Lab where hands-on activities simplify abstract concepts and encourage joyful learning.
The teachers also visited the Balvatika Room and Demo Balvatika Classroom showcasing child-centric foundational learning approaches, the Demo Anganwadi Resource Centre integrating community-based childcare practices, and the Demo Library curated by the 17000 ft Foundation to promote early literacy and creativity. The STEM Lab Bus also formed part of the exposure visit, providing demonstrations of mobile science and technology-based learning initiatives.
The delegation participated in activity-based demonstrations and observed how digital and language laboratories can enhance classroom teaching practices. Interactive sessions with DIET faculty facilitated discussions on pedagogy, classroom innovations and blending traditional wisdom with modern educational practices.
The programme reinforced DIET Leh’s commitment towards strengthening educator capacity building across Ladakh and promoting activity-based, child-friendly learning methods. It also aimed at enhancing collaboration between DIET Leh and Mahabodhi School for quality education and holistic child development.
Principal DIET Leh, Sh. Mirza Mehdi, expressed satisfaction over hosting the teachers and said such visits inspire educators to adopt innovative teaching practices and make classrooms more vibrant and engaging for students.
The head of the Mahabodhi School delegation termed the visit highly enriching and said the exposure to DIET Leh’s facilities and teaching methodologies would help strengthen innovative educational practices in their institution.
DIET Leh thanked Mahabodhi School for its active participation and reiterated its commitment towards collaborative educational initiatives aimed at empowering teachers and enriching learning experiences for children across Ladakh.
