Kargil, June 14, 2025 – In a remarkable initiative to foster national unity, promote social harmony and empower the local youth of Kargil district, Fire and Fury Corps of Indian Army successfully organized a National Integration Tour for 14 students & two faculty members of Government Industrial Training Institute, Kargil to Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The tour was today ‘Flagged In’ by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, and Commander, 121 (Independent) Infantry Brigade Group at Kargil Helipad in a grand ceremony which was attended by several civil administrative officials.
Addressing the ocassion, CEC Dr Jaffar expressed gratitude to 121 Infantry Brigade for organising the tour and added that the tour will enhance the experience of the students. He advised the students to implement the experience and knowledge they received from the tour in their daily lives.
The tour, which spanned over a week, provided students a life-changing exposure to India’s rich heritage, technological prowess and democratic institutions. For the students, soaring through the skies on their first-ever flight, from Jammu to Bengaluru, was an exhilarating experience, which filled them with awe, and excitement.
The tour was meticulously created to offer a balance of cultural, administrative and scientific exposure – enabling the students to grasp the multi- dimensional diversity of our country.
It began with a memorable visit to the Raj Bhavan where the students had the honour of interacting with Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, Shri TC Gehlot. The interaction focused on the role of youth in nation building, the value of education and the significance of nation integration. In addition, the students explored the chambers of the Legislative Assembly & Legislative Council, learned about the legislative process and were briefed on the importance of civic participation.
The tour’s scientific dimension came alive with the visits to Robotics Lab of IISc (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Heritage Centre & Aerospace Museum, VIT Museum and Chanakya University. These visits ignited scientific curiosity showing students the vast potential of careers in aerospace, engineering and research.
Mid-tour, the group took a cultural de-tour with a day-trip to Mysore, where they experienced the magnificence of Mysore Palace – a symbol of India’s royal heritage. In addition, they explored the Zoological Garden and Brindavan Garden in Mysore. Students also utilized the opportunity for local sightseeing.
The students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for playing a pivotal role in nation building by providing such platforms for the local populace as part of Sadbhavana Project.
