Leh, June 8: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, on Monday inaugurated a four-day PM eVidya DTH TV Channels Orientation-cum-Training Workshop aimed at enhancing digital education and strengthening teachers’ capacity in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The programme was attended by Joint Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Zakir Hussain Samrah; Prof. Abhay Kumar, National Coordinator of PM eVidya; Rajesh Patel, Director BISAG-N; Sanjay Vaghasiya, Additional Director SATCOM, BISAG-N; senior officials from NCERT, RIE Ajmer, DIET Leh and DIET Kargil, along with teachers and educators.
In his welcome address, Principal DIET Leh Mirza Mehdi highlighted the growing importance of digital learning platforms in expanding access to quality education and bridging learning gaps in remote regions.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Abhay Kumar underscored the transformative role of PM eVidya channels in providing inclusive and engaging educational content. He encouraged teachers to embrace innovation and adapt to evolving digital teaching methods.
Rajesh Patel highlighted BISAG-N’s contribution to educational broadcasting and stressed the importance of leveraging technology to empower both educators and learners.
Addressing the gathering, Joint Director Zakir Hussain Samrah commended DIET Leh and DIET Kargil for taking proactive steps to strengthen digital education. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving digital learning infrastructure and urged teachers to effectively utilize PM eVidya channels to enhance classroom teaching and student learning outcomes.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Principal DIET Kargil S.D. Namgyal. The workshop will continue until June 11 and will feature technical sessions, interactive discussions and hands-on training to help educators create and deliver effective digital learning content.
