Leh, 13 April 2026 :In a significant step towards ensuring the smooth and effective conduct of the Foundational Learning Study (FLS) 2026, scheduled from 15th to 17th April 2026 across Leh district, District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Leh, successfully organized the distribution of confidential assessment materials to the designated Field Investigators.
The distribution programme was conducted at DIET Leh under the supervision of the Principal, Sh. Mirza Mehdi, in presence of District Level Coordinators Ms. Tsering Yangdol (Head of Department) and Mr. Tsewang Dorjey (Lecturer, DIET Leh). During the session, all essential and highly confidential materials—including tablets, assessment kits, official documentation formats, and requisite stationery items—were systematically handed over to 18 Field Investigators deputed for the assessment exercise.
Ensuring operational preparedness, all Field Investigators were provided with secure User IDs and passwords, and their tablets were pre-configured with the FLS Assessment APK, thereby enabling a seamless, technology-enabled assessment process from the very first day. This preparatory step reflects the department’s commitment to maintaining efficiency, transparency, and standardization in large-scale educational assessments.
On the occasion, the Principal, along with the District Level Coordinators, extended a warm welcome to the Field Investigators and the District Level Observer. A comprehensive orientation was delivered, elaborating in detail on the roles, responsibilities, ethical considerations, confidentiality protocols, and standard operating procedures to be adhered to during the assessment period. Emphasis was laid on maintaining the integrity and reliability of the assessment process.
It was also highlighted that the Field Investigators had already undergone a rigorous two-day intensive training programme conducted on 6th and 7th April 2026, wherein they were thoroughly oriented with both theoretical frameworks and practical aspects of the assessment process. The training significantly enhanced their capacity to administer the study in a professional and standardized manner.
At the culmination of the programme, the Principal, DIET Leh, along with the District Level Coordinators, expressed their deep sense of gratitude and appreciation to PARAKH, NCERT New Delhi, particularly Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, Head & COE, for the timely provision and dispatch of essential resources, including tablets, assessment materials, and financial support. The department also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of expert National Resource Persons and Technical Resource Persons from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, whose professional guidance and training inputs played a pivotal role in strengthening the preparedness of both Field Investigators and District Level Coordinators.
Furthermore, the department conveyed its sincere gratitude to Ms. Bhanu Prabha, Administrative Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh, for her constant guidance and strategic direction. Appreciation was also extended to Mr. Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS), Director, School Education, and Mr. Zakir Hussain (JKAS), Joint Director, School Education, for their timely guidance, continuous support, and proactive supervision throughout the preparatory process.
The programme concluded in a congenial atmosphere, with all participants being served tea and refreshments, fostering a spirit of collaboration and commitment towards the successful implementation of FLS 2026 in Leh district.
“With collective dedication and meticulous preparation, Leh district stands committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and meaningful assessment that will contribute towards strengthening foundational learning outcomes for every child.”
