Leh: In a heartwarming gesture, the Tibetan Cancer Society, along with members of the Dashugs Band, distributed 400 sweatshirts to underprivileged school children across Ladakh.
The campaign, titled “Warmth Without Borders,” is part of a special outreach initiative to mark the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The team met CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson to brief him about the initiative. The meeting was also attended by Executive Councillors Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Stanzin Chosphel, Ghulam Mehdi, DC/CEO LAHDC Leh Romil Singh Donk, and ADDC Leh Sonam Nurboo.
CEC Tashi Gyalson praised the team’s dedication to public welfare and presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Tsultim Dorjey, President of the Tibetan Cancer Society. He assured continued support for such socially impactful initiatives.
The Tibetan Cancer Society, in collaboration with the Tsering Foundation, has also been conducting free health camps across remote areas of Ladakh.
These camps focused on early cancer detection, HPV testing, cataract surgeries, minor procedures, and public awareness, in coordination with LAHDC Leh and support from local leaders like BJP UT President Tashi Gyaltson Kachu and the Mazda Union.
