Drass: A tragic road accident occurred early this morning around 6:30 AM near the Meena Marg check post in the Drass region, involving a Tempo Traveller en route from Leh to Jammu.
According to sources, 18 passengers were onboard the vehicle at the time of the accident. The cause of the crash is yet to be confirmed, but preliminary reports indicate a sudden mishap occurred near Meena Marg, resulting in a severe impact.
Tragically, two passengers lost their lives on the spot, as per initial updates. Several others sustained injuries and were in need of urgent medical attention.
The Indian Army played a crucial role in the immediate aftermath, launching a timely rescue operation and helping evacuate the injured to nearby hospitals.
