Nubra: Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Nubra, established in 2003 by the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD) to provide quality education to students in the region, is facing the threat of closure due to a significant decline in student enrolment.
In the ongoing academic session, the school’s student strength has dwindled to just seven, raising serious concerns about its future. To prevent the closure of KV Nubra, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has initiated fresh admissions from Class 1 onwards for the 2025-26 session. Unfortunately, only one application has been received so far against the 40 sanctioned seats available through the online admission portal.
To address the situation, KVS has announced that admissions for Class 2 and above will open from April 2 to April 11, 2025. Authorities are urging local residents and parents to take advantage of this opportunity and enroll their children at KV Nubra to ensure the school’s survival.
Concerned officials have been requested to promote the admission schedule and encourage parents to secure their children’s admission. Sustained enrolment is crucial to keep KV Nubra operational and continue providing quality education in the region.
