Kargil, March 5, 2025: Executive Councilor for RDD, Forest, and Information, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, conducted a surprise visit to a hostel where students from Higher Secondary and High Schools of Zanskar Sub Division are attending remedial classes for the ongoing CBSE Class 10th and 12th examinations.
During the visit, EC Tashi interacted with students to assess their exam preparations. The students expressed gratitude to the administration and LAHDC Kargil for facilitating hostels in this remote region during the harsh winter. They also shared their experiences and provided feedback on the quality of education at the tuition center.
The hostel and school authorities highlighted concerns regarding the availability of drinking water and essential facilities, as well as the issue of remuneration for the cooks engaged by students’ parents.
In response, EC Tashi directed the PHE Department to supply drinking water through tankers and assured both staff and students of full support from LAHDC Kargil.
Appreciating the efforts of the Principal, Headmasters, and teaching staff, EC Tashi commended their dedication in maintaining the hostel and assisting students in their academic pursuits.
He expressed confidence that the performance of Class 10th and 12th students, including first-time and repeat exam takers, would improve compared to the previous year. The Zonal Education Officer, Zanskar, accompanied EC Tashi during the visit.
