Leh : Hon’ble Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, chaired a review meeting to assess and enhance security measures for Gompas across the region.
The meeting was attended by CPO Tsewang Gyalson, Deputy Secretary Culture Tsewang Paljor, LGA President Gyen Tsering Angdu, and General Secretary Ven. Tsering Chosphel. Discussions centered on strengthening security arrangements, particularly the installation of CCTV cameras at Gompas. It was informed that the tender for CCTV installation has been approved, and the concerned department has been briefed on the tendering process.
An extensive discussion was held regarding the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Gompa security and development. The MoU, which will outline key responsibilities and collaborations, is set to be finalized and signed between the Culture Academy, the Ladakh Gonpa Association (LGA), and the LAHDC Leh in the coming days.
CEC Tashi Gyalson assured the Gompa Association of the Council’s full support in ensuring the security and holistic development of Gompas. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to preserving Ladakh’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage by providing necessary assistance and resources.
