Leh: A Road Safety Awareness Camp was held today in Khaltse Subdivision as part of the ‘National Road Safety Month’ initiative. The event was led by the Incharge Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Khaltse, in collaboration with Police Station Khaltse, to promote road safety practices among the local community.
The program was attended by key officials, including the Incharge SDM, Aagar Ali, Station House Officer (SHO) Jamyang Namgail, and Purnima from the Forensic Department. Students from Government Higher Secondary School Khaltse, Government Higher Secondary School Skurbuchan, and Government High School Wanla, along with local residents, actively participated in the event.
During the camp, SHO Jamyang Namgail and Purnima delivered insightful talks on essential road safety measures, including proper driving practices, pedestrian safety, the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and adhering to traffic regulations to prevent road accidents.
Participants also engaged with drivers, encouraging them to comply with traffic rules. The event concluded with a rally starting from the SDM ground and culminating at Khaltse market. Participants carried banners promoting road safety and took a collective pledge to follow traffic rules and ensure safer roads for all.
