Leh: The District Social Welfare Office, in collaboration with NMBA , Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, GOI , conducted a one-day orientation cum training program to Master Volunteers of Leh District under the auspices of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Conference Hall, DC Office Leh. The programme aims to address and combat substance abuse issues prevalent in our society today.
Resource Person present during the programme were Ms. Risha Nusrat, Senior Program Officer, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Ms. Kritika Jha, PMU State Coordinator, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and Ms. Pragjyotika Meena, PMU State Coordinator, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The programme was also attended by Master Volunteers, students of YATO Club and Health Ambassador from various schools, Staff members of DDAC Officials of District Social Welfare Office.
The program included insightful sessions and interactive workshops conducted by resource persons focusing on equipping the master Volunteer with the necessary knowledge and skills to Combat substance abuse & Promote drug demand reduction in the district.
They also spoke about understanding the objectives and initiatives of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the practices in tackling substance abuse at the community level.
Role of stakeholders and community leaders in promoting awareness and prevention strategies and implementation of strategies for effective rehabilitation and support systems were also discussed during the programme.
Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide initiative launched by the Government of India to combat the menace of substance abuse through awareness, prevention, and rehabilitation efforts.
