๐๐๐ก: First Lady, Smt Neelam Mishra graced the โEntrepreneurship Training Program for Schedule Tribe Community of UT Ladakh to produce solar lantern for lighting applicationโ sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, (MeitY), GoI at Leh campus of the University of Ladakh.
The First Lady interacted with participants and master trainers, sharing her experiences and offering words of encouragement to those embarking on their entrepreneurial journey. She exhorted that entrepreneurship works as a vital engine for economic growth and social progress. She highlighted the importance of nurturing creativity, resilience, and a mindset focused on problem-solving in todayโs rapidly changing world. She stated that entrepreneurship is not just about starting businesses but about creating opportunities, transforming communities, and building a future where all can thrive. โPrograms like this empower individuals to take charge of their destinies, innovate, and contribute to the well-being of a nationโ, said the First Lady.
Smt Neelam Mishra underscored the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs, urging them to embrace technology and digital platforms to scale their businesses. She reiterated her commitment to initiatives that promote equal opportunities for all, especially the underrepresented groups, and expressed her unwavering support for the entrepreneurial spirit. She commended the efforts of the project team and participants. She expressed delight to see that the University in this project has made Solar Diya for religious purposes on her advice which she said is of great benefit not only in reducing fire risks but is also eco-friendly.
The 14 days Entrepreneurship Training Program covered a wide range of topics including LED Bulb making, Solar lantern making, business development, marketing strategies, and digital innovation. The program aimed to equip budding entrepreneurs with essential skills and knowledge to harness the potential of solar energy in day-to-day life.
Dr Rafee, Principal Investigator, and his team presented a solar made lantern and Oshibana using locally available plants, herbs and flowers to the First Lady.
Dr Subrat Sharma, Dean Research Studies and the project team were present on the occasion.
