Nuba, April 20: A meeting of the Sub-Divisional Level Committee for implementation of the National Manuscript Survey under the Gyan Bharatam Programme was convened today under the chairmanship of Sh. Jigmet Raftan, JKAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the National Manuscript Survey under the Gyan Bharatam Programme, emphasizing the need to identify, document, and preserve invaluable manuscript heritage. All participants unanimously stressed the significance of conservation and safeguarding of manuscripts.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the effective execution of the manuscript survey across the Sub-Division. It was decided that 10 survey zones will be created to ensure systematic and comprehensive coverage. Each zone will be placed under a designated Master Surveyor, who will lead and supervise the survey activities in their respective areas. The surveyor teams have been assigned the responsibility of conducting the manuscript survey in a structured and time bound manner.
The meeting was attended by Sub-division committee members, Gashay Lobzang Zotpa, Samstanling Monastery, Head Lamas of Diskit and Yarma Gonpa, Sh. Tsewang Paljore, Deputy Secretary, Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Language, Leh, Ms. Sonam Dolkar, ZEO, Nubra, Dr. Mingyur, Assistant Professor, CIBS, subject experts and appointed surveyors.
