Leh, April 20: An informative and engaging Orientation and Outreach Programme on Sindhu Central University (SCU) was successfully organized at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College today. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and academic stakeholders.
The visiting team from SCU was led by Dr. B. Chandrasekhar, Secretary, Executive Council, SCU Leh. The programme commenced with a warm and traditional welcome, where the Worthy Principal of EJM College Leh felicitated the distinguished guest with a ceremonial Khatak, reflecting Ladakh’s rich cultural ethos.
Dr. Mohd Taqi, Convener, Career Counselling Cell, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of such outreach initiatives in guiding students towards informed academic and career choices.
In his address, Dr. B. Chandrasekhar provided a comprehensive overview of Sindhu Central University, elaborating on its vision, academic framework, and future prospects. He also shared detailed information regarding the upcoming admission session 2026–27, including various programmes such as M.Sc., M.A., M.Tech., and certificate courses. His address offered valuable insights into the emerging academic opportunities within Ladakh.
The session was followed by an interactive segment, where students actively engaged with the SCU team, raising queries related to courses, eligibility criteria, and career prospects. The interaction proved highly beneficial, enabling students to gain clarity and firsthand information about the university.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Tsering Norphel, who expressed gratitude to the visiting team, Principal, faculty members, and students for making the event meaningful and successful.
