Kargil, Feb 9:
The Food Safety Department conducted a surprise inspection in Drass market covering vegetable vendors, hotels, tea stalls, retail shops and pharmacies.
Led by food safety officers Shamsiya Banoo and Gazanfar Ali in the presence of the Naib Tehsildar, the team collected frozen meat samples for testing and checked compliance with food safety norms.
Fines were imposed on shopkeepers found selling expired items or violating regulations.
