Leh: : Several delegations of ex-servicemen groups met with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat to discuss various concerns, including land allotment and resettlement.
The meetings were attended by Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mr. Shabbir Hussain, JKAS; SDM Kharu; OSD Secretary Tourism, Mr. Mohd Ali Tak; and Councillor Shara, Mr. Sonam Thardot.
A delegation from Shara Sharnos requested land allotment at Shara-Upshi for the construction of their office to support their welfare activities. In response, the Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor directed SDM Kharu to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Nambardar of Shara and forward the recommendation to the Revenue Department.
Another delegation from the Durbuk region sought the resettlement of ex-servicemen to border areas, aligning with the recent push for Border Tourism. The Lieutenant Governor contacted the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division to discuss the matter and assured the delegation that infrastructure for tourism would be developed by the Army, with management entrusted to local ex-servicemen from the Durbuk region.
