Leh: A delegation of Physical Education Teachers from Kargil District met with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, seeking his intervention in resolving their long-pending transfer requests.
Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS, and OSD to the Secretary of Youth Services & Sports, Dr. Stanzin Thakchos, were also present during the meeting.
The delegation informed the Lieutenant Governor that they have been serving under the Department of Youth Services & Sports and that their transfer requests have remained unresolved for over nine years, leading to prolonged postings at the same locations. Acknowledging their concerns, the Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner of Kargil to examine the cases in detail.
He further instructed the teachers to submit a formal written representation outlining their grievances and assured them that appropriate action would be taken following a thorough review of their requests.
