Leh The Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), convened an introductory meeting with the Sub-Divisional officers of Khaltse and Liker after assuming charge of the newly created District Sham.
During the meeting, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharif, presented an overview of Sub-Division Khaltse, while SDM Liker, Gurmat Namgail, briefed about Sub-Division Liker.
The meeting was attended by all officers of the Sub-Division, including the Superintendent Engineer, PMJAY, Sh. Shamim Ahmad; Principal, Government Degree College (GDC) Khaltse, Sameena Iqbal; Naib Tehsildars, and other concerned officials.
Addressing the officers, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated them on the creation of the new district and emphasized punctuality, dedication, and efficient service delivery. She stressed the importance of ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary. The Deputy Commissioner further informed that departmental review meetings would be conducted in the coming days.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various ongoing construction works at Khaltse headquarters, including the Auditorium Hall, DC residence, officers’ quarters, and other infrastructure projects. She directed the Executive Engineer, R&B, to ensure timely completion of works while maintaining quality standards.
Subsequently, the SDM Khaltse presented the identified land reserved for government infrastructure. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the land allotted to GDC Khaltse and inspected the college premises. The Principal briefed her on the college’s current enrollment, future plans for increasing student strength, and infrastructure development.
The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by the Executive Engineer, Naib Tehsildar, and concerned Junior Engineer, also visited Gothang, where land has been allotted for the Central Sindhu University. She inquired about the ongoing works, including the construction of the connecting road to the proposed university campus.
