Leh, April 6: A six-day basic course in smartphone filmmaking was inaugurated at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College Leh, aimed at equipping participants with practical skills in mobile-based filmmaking.
The programme is being organised by the Ladakh Skill Development Mission in collaboration with the Film and Television Institute of India.
Administrative Secretary, Higher Education and Technical Education & Skill Development, Bhanu Prabha, attended as the chief guest and highlighted the growing importance of digital storytelling. She noted that smartphone filmmaking has democratised cinema, enabling young creators to express ideas with minimal resources.
The course is being conducted under the guidance of Ajmal Jami, who emphasised creativity, observation and narrative strength in visual storytelling.
Principal Stanzin Yangdol welcomed the guests and participants, while the session was moderated by Hajira Bano. The vote of thanks was presented by Abid Hussain.
A total of 37 participants, including students from Mass Communication and Graphic Designing courses, are attending the programme, which will cover scripting, shooting, editing and storytelling through hands-on training.
