Drass, March 28, 2026: The Rural Development Department Drass successfully conducted a “Mega Cleanliness Drive” today under the chairmanship of the Block Development Officer (BDO) Drass, in compliance with the directions issued by the District Administration Kargil.
The drive witnessed active participation from officials of various departments of Drass Sub-Division, along with Ho’ble Councillors, shopkeepers and local stakeholders. The collective effort aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness, and civic responsibility among the public.
During the drive, the entire area of Ranbirpura, Drass was thoroughly cleaned. Participants removed waste, cleared debris, and ensured proper sanitation of the area.
The initiative reflects the administration’s continued commitment to maintaining cleanliness and encouraging community participation in keeping public spaces hygienic and sustainable. The BDO Drass appreciated the enthusiasm and cooperation shown by all participants and urged the public to continue contributing towards a cleaner and greener Drass.
While speaking on the occasion, Block Development Officer Drass, Shri Shahid Sultan Dar, highlighted that it is the moral responsibility of each one of us to keep our area clean and maintain hygiene.
During the Cleanliness Drive, Shri Shahid Sultan Dar appealed the people to maintain their area clean and not to throw waste everywhere and keep their surroundings clean and avoid littering.
