Kargil, January 20, 2026: A 10-day Winter Ice Hockey Coaching Camp commenced on Monday in Taisuru, organised by the Zonal Physical Education Office, Tai Suru, in collaboration with the Hon’ble Councillors of Tai Suru.
On the first day of the camp, 58 students participated in the training sessions. The initiative witnessed growing enthusiasm among local youth, with participation increasing to 87 students on the second day.
The coaching camp is being conducted by two experienced ice hockey coaches from Kargil, Mr Ilyas and Mr Imran. Training sessions are held daily from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm across four shifts. In addition to conducting coaching sessions, the coaches are also involved in maintaining the ice hockey rink during late hours to ensure safe and quality training conditions for the participants.
The camp aims to promote winter sports—particularly ice hockey—among the youth of the region and to identify and nurture local talent through structured and professional coaching.
