Kargil, October 23, 2025: The Kargil Jan Hit Camp, an integrated mega awareness and outreach programme aimed at reaching unemployed youth, artisans, and entrepreneurs of far-flung areas, concluded successfully today at the Syed Mehdi Memorial Auditorium, Kargil. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh graced the valedictory session as the Chief Guest, marking the successful culmination of the month-long initiative held across 31 Gram Panchayats from 10th September to 16th October 2025.
The programme witnessed active participation from all major departments implementing livelihood and employment schemes, including Handicrafts, Handloom, Fisheries, Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, Tourism, Industries, and financial institutions. The Hon’ble LG visited departmental stalls, interacted with artisans and beneficiaries, and appreciated their efforts and achievements.
In his address, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor lauded the coordinated efforts of all departments and emphasized the importance of schemes like PMEGP, PMFME, Ladakh Greenhouse, and PMMSY, assuring that the UT Administration will leave no stone unturned in making Kargil an Aspirational District.
Welcoming the dignitaries, the General Manager, DIC Kargil, highlighted the purpose of the Jan Hit Camp—to bring government schemes closer to people and ensure inclusive development.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, elaborated on the programme’s vision and outcomes. He informed that over 2800 individuals participated in the 31 camps, and 70 entrepreneurs were registered under PMEGP and PMFME, with more than 30 cases sanctioned for self-employment loans. The Agriculture Department provided 190 greenhouses to beneficiaries, with another 200 under construction in convergence with RDD and MGNREGA. The Fisheries Department identified 23 beneficiaries under the PMMSY scheme, while 20 individuals received assistance for Vermi Compost units. Under LRLM, 27 new SHGs were formed, and 12 bank linkages were established.
The DC added that this was only the first phase of the Jan Hit Camp and would be replicated in other areas. He also highlighted the e-launch of the “Aspiration to Inspiration” Portal by the Hon’ble LG, designed to mentor and support local entrepreneurs and innovators.
Students presented a skit on the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan” and a ramp walk in traditional Ladakhi attire, showcasing placards of various government schemes. These performances were widely appreciated.
During the event, sanction letters and certificates were distributed among beneficiaries. Hon’ble MP Ladakh and Hon’ble CEC LAHDC Kargil praised the departments and urged the public to benefit from available schemes.
In his vote of thanks, the Lead District Manager (LDM) appreciated the cooperation of all departments and thanked the beneficiaries and public for their enthusiastic participation in making the programme a success.
