Kargi: : Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, today held a comprehensive discussion over teachers transfer draft policy and landmark resolutions including the draft Admission Policy for Kargil Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels in Jammu and Srinagar, and a resolution on the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, in the presence of Excutive Councillors and Hon’ble Councillors of LAHDC Kargil and Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar.
During the meeting detailed discussion held on the draft policies presented by LAHDC Kargil and the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil. Both drafts were thoroughly examined, and it was unanimously agreed to adopt the draft proposed by the Deputy Commissioner with certain modifications and the final policy will be implemented after due consultation and deliberation with committee members and Deputy Commissioner in the forthcoming final meeting to be convened shortly.
The adoption of this policy marks a significant step toward ensuring transparency, accountability, the smooth functioning of the education system, and the equitable distribution of teachers across the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Kumar, also presented the draft Admission Policy for Kargil Hostels in Jammu and Srinagar. After extensive deliberations, the Council collectively appreciated and endorsed the policy, recognizing its role in ensuring fair and transparent hostel admissions for students of the district.
On the energy front, the Deputy Commissioner informed the Council that the Union Territory Administration has approved an additional top-up subsidy under the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana for Ladakh. The scheme seeks to transform electricity access for households, promote energy efficiency, and contribute to the vision of a carbon-neutral Ladakh, in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment to sustainable development.
The Council unanimously passed a resolution on the scheme, wherein the Hon’ble Councillors resolved to lead by example by installing solar panels in their own homes and mobilizing residents to adopt the initiative, ensuring its wider success. The Deputy Commissioner further briefed the Council on steps being taken for effective implementation across the district.
These collective decisions mark a historic milestone in strengthening education, promoting energy sustainability, and advancing public welfare initiatives in Kargil.
