Kargil, August 29, 2025:
The Ladakh Taekwondo Association, under the aegis of India Taekwondo, inaugurated the National Sports Day Celebration 2025 with the theme “Ek Ghanta Khel Ke Maidaan Mein”.
The program was graced by Chairperson Hajj Committee Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, as the Chief Guest, while two tourists from Spain joined the occasion as Special Guests. President of Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Gulzar Hussain Munshi, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries with the presentation of traditional Khataks.
On the occasion, Taekwondo players presented a special demonstration highlighting their skills and discipline. Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mohd Ali Majaz said that National Sports Day is an important opportunity to revive the collective resolve of making India a global sporting marvel. He appreciated the efforts of the Ladakh Taekwondo Association for nurturing talent and producing not only state-level players but also national and international champions who have brought laurels to UT Ladakh.
He urged the young players to take inspiration from their seniors and set higher benchmarks of excellence, recalling that the association has already earned five State Awards to its credit.
The Spanish tourists present on the occasion admired the young talents of Ladakh, stating that India’s future shines brighter when its youth pursue sports with such dedication and passion.
The Chief Guest felicitated Asian Para Taekwondo Gold Medalist Rinche Youdol with traditional Khataks in recognition of her achievements.
Towards the conclusion, General Secretary of Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Anayat Ali Shotopa, delivered a vote of thanks. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, the special guests from Spain, and all participants for sparing their precious time to make the event a success. He also reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to continue its mission of promoting Taekwondo across Ladakh, inspiring the younger generation, and preparing athletes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
Educationist, Motivator and Social Activist founder of Team Stringmo, Sajjad Hussain Bob also interacted with the players and briefed about importance of sports as a Career.
