Leh: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson was called on by Tsultim Dorjey, President and Director of the Tibetan Cancer Society, along with his team. The delegation apprised the CEC of their ongoing healthcare initiatives in Ladakh, where the Society has been conducting free health camps for the past seven years.
During the meeting, the team informed the CEC about their upcoming series of health camps aimed at early diagnosis and treatment, especially in remote areas. They had a detailed discussion on the schedule and venues, and came to a decision that H. pylori screening camps will be held in Nimoo on July 10, Sumda on July 14, Hanley on July 16, and at SNM Hospital in Leh on July 18, 19, and 20.
These health camps are being actively coordinated by the newly elected BJP State President, Tashi Gyaltson Kachu, along with Tsering Paljor Otsal, President of Mazda Union and the Dashugs. They have been spearheading the initiative on the ground and have played a vital role in mobilising support and resources for its smooth execution.
At SNM Hospital, a team of specialist doctors will also carry out cataract surgeries and other minor procedures free of cost, in addition to general consultations, H. pylori testing, and other diagnostic services. The camps, including the surgical interventions, are being held in collaboration with LAHDC Leh to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for the people of the region.
H’CEC Tashi Gyalson appreciated the continued efforts of the Tibetan Cancer Society and extended full support from LAHDC towards the successful conduct of the programme.
