Leh: In a significant boost to high-altitude drone operations, the Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps has established a state-of-the-art Drone Maintenance-cum-Repair Hub near Nimu, in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The facility is designed to provide critical engineering support to drone missions conducted in some of the most challenging and rugged terrains in the world.
The newly inaugurated hub will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational readiness and sustaining unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations across high-altitude regions, where extreme weather and altitude pose serious technical challenges.
As per reports , the facility is equipped to handle the repair, diagnostics, and maintenance of advanced drone systems deployed for surveillance, reconnaissance, and tactical support missions.
“The Drone Maintenance-cum-Repair Hub will significantly enhance the Army’s operational capability in the high-altitude environment of Ladakh,” a report said. “It ensures rapid turnaround of assets and maintains mission continuity in critical situations.”
Located strategically near Nimu—an area known for its high strategic value along the Line of Actual Control (LAC)—this development is seen as a major technological step forward in modernizing military logistics in remote zones.
