Phyang, June 20, 2025:
A grand offering ceremony was held at Photang Gatsaling Monastery in Phyang to commemorate the 808th Mahaparinirvana anniversary of Lord Jigten Sumgon, founder of the Drikung Kagyu lineage.
Hon’ble CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson attended the ceremony along with LAHDC councillors and religious figures. The event was graced by H.E. Khanchen Konchok Rangdol Rinpoche and featured traditional prayers, dances, and cultural presentations by youth and women’s groups.
CEC Gyalson praised the spiritual legacy of Lord Jigten Sumgon and highlighted Ladakh’s proud connection to the Drikung tradition. He urged the community to carry forward teachings of compassion and spiritual wisdom.
