LAHDC Kargil accords warm farewell to outgoing Commander 121, Brigadier Prateek Parashar

Kargil, June 11, 2025 – LAHDC Kargil under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, today accorded a warm farewell to Brigadier Prateek Parashar,  outgoing Commander 121  in a ceremony held at Council Secretariat Kargil.
The farewell ceremony was attended by incoming Commander 121 Infantry Colonel Ashish Joshi, Executive Councilor Agriculture Aga Syed Mujtaba, Executive Councilor Rural Development Department Er Phunsok Tashi, Executive Councilor Tourism Kacho Mohd Feroz, Executive Councilor Education Zakir Hussain, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse, Councilors of various constituencies including Shargole, TSG, Saliskote, Lankerchey, Chuliskambo besides Director Horticulture and SE R&B.
Addressing the gathering, CEC, Dr Mohd Jaffar Akhoon congratulated Brigadier Prateek Parashar for successfully completing his  tenure and leaving a remarkable imprint on the hearts of people of Kargil through initiatives of Civil Military liaisioning.
The CEC expressed gratitude to the Brigadier for playing instrumental role in solving the issue of establishing a PHC in Budgam village of Chuliskambo Constituency and in resolution of various other land issues in the district.
Dr Jaffer Akhoon also acknowledged the support of the Indian  Army in strengthening health and education sectors under Operation Sadbhavana through the conduct of  various medical camps and successful functioning of Army Goodwill schools across the district.
Dr Jaffer praised the Indian Army for standing firm in always defending the borders of the nation and also highlighted the patriotic zeal of the people of Kargil towards safeguarding the nation by support to the Army at critical juncture of time.
Acknowledging the preparedness of the Indian Army during the Operation Sindoor, the CEC said that a good coordination between Army, district administration and other line departments was visible during the operation in securing the lives of people. He also expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for connecting Kargil to the rest of the world in winters through AN-32 courier services.
The CEC expressed best wishes on behalf of LAHDC Kargil  and people of Kargil  to Brigadier Prateek Parashar for his future endeavours and also welcomed the new joining Commander of 121 Infantry  Brigade Colonel Ashish Joshi for joining the new position.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Suse said the coordination with Army during the Brigadier’s tenure was exceptional and he applauded his leadership skills.
The DC applauded the Brigadier for bolstering developmental works such as border tourism, resolution of land issues and facilitating VVIP visits in the district.
DC Shrikant said that a good impression of Kargil Brigade has gone in the public of Kargil due to the efforts of Brigadier Prateek Parashar and expressed best wishes to him for his future endeavours.
Addressing the event Brigadier Prateek Parashar expressed gratitude to LAHDC for organising the event and added that Army is always for the Nation so it was natural that the Army will work in collaboration and coordination with the District Administration for the welfare of people.
Pertaining the construction of PHC Budgam he said that it was his prerogative that it should be made for larger public welfare and considering the patriotic nature of the people of Kargil the resolution of the land issues was a moral obligation.
The Brigadier thanked the CEC and District Administration for cooperation in carrying out dual development projects in Border areas of Kargil and also providing budget for the Army works as well.
During the event, the new Commander of 121 Infantry Colonel Ashish Joshi also expressed his experiences and importance of Kargil.
Later, Brigadier Prateek Parashar was felicitated with souvenirs and traditional khataks on behalf of LAHDC and District Administration as a token of respect and love and Brigadier Prateek Parashar also presented a portrait to CEC, LAHDC, Kargil.
