Leh, Ladakh: In a vital outreach program of the Election Commission of India (ECI) led by Secretary Soumyajit Ghosh has initiated a significant outreach program in Ladakh, to remote polling stations, for training of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and to assess election process preparations. The 9 member team commenced their visit on May 29, 2025. They visited polling stations at Khardong, Rasermo and Spangmik at Pangong and interacted with locals in the areas. The team also conducted a training program for BLOs at Diskit village of Nubra region. Their visit concluded on June 1, 2025.
This initiative, “Visiting the Unique/Remote Polling Booths of India,” aims to strengthen democratic participation in challenging geographical areas, with imparting training to BLOs and documenting their findings for official records.
This concerted effort underscores the ECI’s commitment to ensuring an inclusive and accessible electoral process for all citizens, regardless of their geographical location.
