Leh: In a significant administrative reshuffle under the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) cadre, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered the transfer of several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, impacting the governance landscape in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Two prominent Deputy Commissioners—Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, IAS, and Santosh G Sukhadeve, IAS—have been relieved from their posts in Ladakh and reassigned as part of the reshuffle.
Shrikant Suse, who had been serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Kargil, has now been posted to Jammu & Kashmir. Known for his proactive administration and engagement with the public, Suse played a vital role in implementing key developmental projects in Kargil district over the past few years.
Similarly, Santosh G Sukhadeve, who was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Leh, has been transferred to Goa. Sukhadeve’s tenure was marked by notable advancements in urban planning, digital initiatives, and disaster preparedness in the ecologically sensitive district of Leh.
In a move that underscores continued collaboration between Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, two IAS officers from J&K have been transferred to the Union Territory of Ladakh as part of the recent AGMUT cadre reshuffle.
Nitish Rajora, IAS (AGMUT: 2021), who previously served as the Director of Information, Jammu & Kashmir, has now been posted to Ladakh.
Joining him is Rakesh Kumar, IAS (AGMUT: 2021), who served as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jammu. With a track record of efficient urban management and public service delivery, Kumar brings valuable administrative experience to Ladakh’s governance framework.
Their appointments come as part of a larger restructuring of the AGMUT cadre, involving transfers of 40 IAS officers across various Union Territories including Delhi, Goa, Puducherry, Mizoram, Lakshadweep, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh.
This reshuffle also marks the departure of Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, IAS, the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Kargil, who has now been transferred to Jammu & Kashmir, and Santosh G Sukhadeve, IAS, who served as Deputy Commissioner of Leh, now posted to Goa.
