Kargil: National Panchayat Day was observed today with enthusiasm and participation across Mushkoo and Goshan Panchayats, highlighting the importance of grassroots democracy and local self-governance.
In Mushkoo Panchayat, the program was organized under the supervision of Shahar VLW and Dilshada VLW. The event focused on spreading awareness about the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in rural development. Local residents, PRI members, and officials attended the session, which included speeches, interactive discussions, and the showcasing of achievements under various government schemes.
Simultaneously, in Goshan Panchayat, a similar celebration was held by Hakeem VLW and Ali VLW. The program emphasized the empowerment of local bodies and encouraged community participation in governance and decision-making processes. Various developmental works undertaken by the Panchayat were highlighted during the session.
These programs were part of the nationwide celebration of National Panchayat Day, commemorating the constitutional status accorded to Panchayati Raj through the 73rd Amendment. The events aimed to strengthen democratic values at the village level and promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive development.
