Leh: Reinforcing the UT Administration’s commitment to fair and transparent governance, Shri Bhupesh Chaudhary IAS, Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Department, Union Territory of Ladakh, convened a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting to review promotion cases of employees from the Agriculture and Command Area Development (CAD) Departments. The meeting was held at the Secretary’s office chamber in the UT Secretariat, Leh.

The session was convened with the objective of thoroughly assessing and finalizing promotion cases of eligible employees serving in the Divisional and UT cadre across the two departments.

The DPC undertook a careful and systematic review of each candidate’s eligibility based on a range of parameters, including seniority, performance appraisals, service records, and overall conduct. This rigorous assessment was guided by the principle of meritocracy and adherence to established norms, ensuring that only the most deserving employees were considered for elevation.

During the course of the meeting, the Administrative Secretary emphasized that timely promotions are not only a statutory right of employees but also a critical factor in boosting morale, enhancing productivity, and strengthening departmental efficiency. He noted that promotions serve as both a recognition of service and a motivation for employees to continue striving for excellence in their respective roles.

The Secretary reiterated the UT Administration’s unwavering commitment to fairness, transparency, and due process in all service-related matters. He appreciated the diligent work of the committee members and underscored the importance of maintaining objectivity and procedural integrity in promotion processes, which directly impact the careers and aspirations of employees.

Following comprehensive deliberations, the committee finalized a list of eligible employees who met all the required criteria and were recommended for promotion. The decisions taken during the meeting will pave the way for smoother functioning of the departments and improved delivery of services at the grassroots level, especially in sectors as vital as agriculture and command area development.

The DPC meeting was attended by key members of the committee, including the Joint Director, Agriculture; Joint Director, Accounts, Agriculture Department; Chief Agriculture Officer, Kargil; Under Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD); and Under Secretary, Agriculture Department. Their collective expertise and administrative experience contributed significantly to ensuring a just and well-informed evaluation process.

Shri Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS mentioned that the Agriculture Department remains committed to the professional growth and welfare of its personnel and will continue to uphold the highest standards of administrative integrity in all departmental functions.
