Leh: The Fisheries Department Leh Ladakh organized an awareness camp today to promote initiatives under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah Yojana (PM-MKSSY), a central sector scheme launched by the Government of India in 2023-24. The scheme aims to provide on-spot registration for fishers, fish farmers, and fish vendors on the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP) portal.
The PM-MKSSY scheme focuses on transforming the fisheries sector through modern technology, effective data management, and support to fish farmers across the nation. The scheme’s key activities include:
– Registration on NFDP Portal: Providing a digital platform for fish farmers, fishers, and fisheries stakeholders to register and access various government schemes and subsidies.
– Submission of Application: Enabling applicants to submit proposals for financial assistance, subsidies, and other benefits under the scheme.
– Capacity Building and Training: Offering training programs for fish farmers, fishers, and other stakeholders to enhance their skills and knowledge in sustainable fishing and aquaculture practices.
The awareness camp was attended by a large number of fish farmers and stakeholders, who were briefed on the scheme’s benefits, key activities, and the registration process on the NFDP portal. A desk from the Common Service Centre was also set up to facilitate on-spot registration for the NFDP portal
