Kharu: Under the PM POSHAN Scheme (Tithi Bhojan), a Zonal Level Cooking Competition was successfully organized today at the Block Resource Centre, Dy. CEO Kharu, under the Kharu Sub-Division. The event showcased the exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and dedication of Mid-Day Meal (MDM) workers from various government schools across the Kharu zone.
The competition aimed to encourage innovation and promote nutritional best practices among Mid-Day Meal cooks and helpers, highlighting their vital role in fostering healthy eating habits among school children.
A total of 23 schools enthusiastically participated in the event, presenting nutritious, locally inspired, and innovative dishes that reflected the rich culinary traditions of the region while aligning with the objectives of the PM POSHAN scheme.
The program was graced by SDM Kharu, Sh. Sonam Dorjey; BDO Officer; and ICDS Supervisor Nilza, who attended as the Chief Guests. They appreciated the commendable efforts of the participants and emphasized the importance of providing wholesome and balanced meals for the holistic growth and development of students.
After a spirited display of talent and teamwork, the results were announced as follows:
1st Position: PS Sharnos
2nd Position: MS Insta Igoo
3rd Position: HS Igoo
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dy. CEO Kharu, Smt. Khalida Parveen, who expressed gratitude to all participants, school representatives, and organizing staff for their valuable contributions in making the event a grand success.
