Leh, June 25, 2025: The newly elected executive body of the All Ladakh Goba Association, led by President Sh. Tsering Motup, called on the Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson. The delegation included Vice Presidents Sh. Tsewang Dorje, Sh. Haider Ali, and Smt. Thinley Angmo; General Secretary Sh. Tsering Stobdan, along with other senior executive members.
Hon’ble CEC warmly greeted and congratulated the newly elected representatives, extending his best wishes for a fruitful and productive tenure in service of the people of Ladakh.
The Association raised pressing concerns, including the enhancement of honorarium, extension of the upper age limit for Gobas, and the allocation of a dedicated office space. The Hon’ble CEC assured the delegation that these matters would be taken up seriously and acted upon in a time-bound manner.
The meeting also focused on Mission Indus, LAHDC’s flagship river clean-up campaign. H’CEC apprised the delegation on the recent order under Section 152 of the BNSS, banning illegal waste discharge, and the formation of sub-divisional and district-level monitoring committees to oversee its implementation.
Recognizing Gobas as vital stakeholders, CEC urged their active role in awareness and enforcement through flying squads. He assured full support, including financial and logistical aid, to strengthen their participation.
The Association pledged unanimous support to the Mission Indus, and a follow-up meeting with all Gobas and concerned stakeholders has been scheduled for June 30 to draft a Common Minimum Programme for river and waste management.
The delegation further appreciated the Hon’ble CEC for launching the visionary Mission Indus initiative and expressed their gratitude for recognising and strengthening the role of Gobas in grassroots governance.
