Kharu: National Deworming Day was celebrated at various Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) of Kharu block and Stakna in collaboration with the Medical Department. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, aims to deworm children and adolescents to improve their overall health and nutritional status.
Observed twice a year, National Deworming Day focuses on eliminating parasitic worms that can lead to malnutrition, anemia, and impaired cognitive development among children. Health officials emphasized the importance of deworming in preventing infections and ensuring better physical and mental growth.
During the program, healthcare workers and Anganwadi staff administered deworming tablets to children and spread awareness about hygiene and nutrition. Parents and caregivers were encouraged to actively participate in the initiative to ensure a healthier future for their children.
